Spotlight – In international business, almost every market around the world does things in a different way. This often leads to misunderstandings and unfulfilled expectations. However, different does not need to mean difficult and knowledge of the needs and characteristics of specific geographic markets is an advantage to those who are active in the global economy. These articles help you understand different aspects of the insurance industry around the world, enabling those who do business there to feel more “at home, abroad.”

Of all the markets in Europe, the one many people are looking at and waiting for more clarity and transparency is Russia. A member of G8, with vast resources and huge corporations, the country has only a few well-known insurance corporations and just a handful of insurance brokers who interact with the rest of the world. It is therefore with great pleasure that we can bring you an article explaining recent developments in Russian law. This discusses real life cases and interpretation of the law in courts. We are grateful to Clyde & Co (www.clydeco.com) for permission to produce this article. For further information, please contact Garrett Moore at garrett.moore@clydeco.com
